Indicted by the disciplinary committee for misusing his position and violating the spirit of the party Constitution, Paramjit Singh Dakha has been expelled from the primary membership of the organization.

The resolution to this effect was passed at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the organization which met at Freedom House, Amritsar on August 18, 2006, under the presidentship of Satnam Singh Paonta Sahib.

The resolution states: “Mr Dakha set himself up for a confrontation with Dal Khalsa when he declared himself as “President” of its US chapter without taking the Central leadership of the party into confidence. On July 6, 2006 he called a meeting of his handpicked loyalists, somewhere in the US and in a dramatic manner declared himself as “president” of the US chapter. The meeting was convened without the knowledge and consent of the party’s central leadership. Also, before conveying the decisions of his unofficial and unconstitutional meeting to the party leadership he rushed to the media and proclaimed himself President.

This act of indiscipline was a “sheer clear and direct violation of the letter and spirit of the party Constitution”. After seeking explanation from him, the members of the disciplinary committee indicted Mr Dakha for misusing his position and deceiving the party leadership.

The statement released from the party office under the signature of organizing Secretary further says that as per Article 9 (4) of the Constitution of the Dal Khalsa, a member shall cease to be a member of the Dal Khalsa when the executive committee of the organization looses faith in the integrity of the member. “Mr Dakha’s refusal to fall in line with the party discipline has paved the way for his exit from the party”, said the resolution. “He has been shown the door as it was in the interest of the party to nip in the bud his ‘nonsensical talks and acts of indiscipline’.

We urge the Sikh Diaspora not to be carried away by his false propaganda. He has floated a dummy outfit “Dal Khalsa USA” that has nothing to do with the Dal Khalsa formed on August 6, 1978 at Chandigarh by S Gajinder Singh and his close associates.

Dal Khalsa has played a significant role in the on-going struggle for independence and is determined to take the struggle to its logical conclusion. We have no truck or association of any kind whatsoever with this dummy outfit –“Dal Khalsa USA”. Any person from the Sikh nation and from the US administration dealing with Mr Dakha should be aware that the parent organization, Dal Khalsa, has nothing to do with him and his coterie and we will not be responsible in any way for their acts of omission and commission.
