UN Report on arrival of drugs in Punjab shocking!

Sunday July 01st, 2006
The availability and consumption of drugs in Punjab in recent years is the result of total failure of the intelligence agencies of the country.

The ‘World Drug Report’ released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and published by The Indian Express on June 29 titled “Punjab World’s No 1 transit point for Opium” is a pointer that Punjab was on the path of destruction. We believe that a section of administration was providing a tactic support to drug peddlers with a design to make the Sikh youth addict. Without the connivance of higher officials of the administration the trade of drugs is not possible.
Apart from police officials, political mafia of different shades was also providing shelter to such
elements.

We urge the President of India Dr A P J Kalam to take suo motto notice of the report and order a judicial enquiry to bring out the truth.
