‘No’ to Vande Matram
BJP spreading “cultural terrorism”
Tuesday September 05th, 2006
By making the song Vande Matram mandatory in
all educational institutions, the BJP is attempting to spread “cultural
terrorism”.
The compulsory singing of Vande Matram in all educational institutions in the BJP ruled states is an attempt to establish Brahmnical hegemony. BJP’s bid to make Vande Matram mandatory is totally unacceptable. Ironically, it is another attempt by the RSS to bring Hindutva agenda back to fold. The BJP, a famously bankrupt party desperately thrashing around for an issue, has courted the controversy to target minorities. We denounce the claims of BJP leaders that opposition to singing Vande Matram is certainly a proof of separatism. We reject the definition of Nationalism presented by the Hindutva force. Dal Khalsa calls upon the Sikh parents residing in Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Gujrat, Madhya Pardes (BJP ruled states) not to send their wards to schools on Sep 7- the day BJP would make singing Vande Mataram mandatory. Sikhs in these states must come forward to say ‘no’ to autocratic decision of the BJP rulers. |
