The organization began its enrolment drive for primary membership of the party. H S Dhami newly elected president of the party formally launched the membership drive in Punjab on 16 September 2008 after presiding over the meeting of the new office bearers.

At a press conference Sardar Dhami declared his parties dream for a `sovereign rule' for Sikhs and reaffirmed that they would stick to democratic path to achieve it.

According to a new set-up, Manmohan Singh Khalsa from UK has been appointed vice-president, Dr Manjinder Singh will replace Kanwar Pal Singh as a general secretary, while the latter has been nominated secretary political affairs in addition to party spokesman. Baldev Singh Ajnala, Shinder Pal Singh, Sarbjit Singh Ghuman who is presently detained in Nabha jail has been included in the executive committee. Gajinder Singh and Satnam Singh Paonta Sahib both founding members of the organization have been listed in the executive committee. Others who have been included in the executive panel from abroad are Surinder Singh Sekhon (Germany), Dr Bakshish Singh Sandhu (USA) and Prithpal Singh Switzerland, who will hold the post of Secretary Human Rights. Avtar Singh Jalalabad (Amritsar) is a new entrant in the executive.

To strengthen the party at grass root level, the president constituted a 30-member working committee that includes Ranbir Singh Hoshiarpur, Dr Arpal Singh Chinna, Gurdeep Singh Kalkat, Shivcharan Singh Baba Bakala, Kuldeep Singh, Sukhdev Singh Hasanpur, Amrik Singh Ajnala, Surinderpal Singh Talabpura, Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Jagjit Singh Moga, Ramandeep Singh Mukatsar, Harbhajan Singh Batala, Anoop Singh Batala, Saroop Singh Gurdaspur, Balraj Singh, Harnek Singh Bhullar, Sarwan Singh Randhawa, Surjeet Singh Ramdas, Noblejeet Singh, Parbjot Singh, Varinderjeet Singh Hoshiarpur, Nanak Singh, Gurbej Singh, Kashmir Singh (Hargobindpur).

District presidents and separate panels will also be constituted next month to steer the working of the party in different fields.
